Nintendo Wii U Review

The Wii U has some great titles! However the Wii U lacked third party games. Third party games are games not made by the consoles publisher.

The Wii U had great potential but the features of the Wii U were not so exciting. The new crazy feature was being able to play one game while someone was using the TV. The other parts of the design were actually OK but the stand to hold it sideways was unstable and occasionally would fall.

The Wii U is a black rectangle shape. The Nintendo Wii U comes with two USBs on the back and the front. I do not know why they put USB ports on the back and front. Nintendo should’ve just put them all of one side. One day when I came home my Wii U tipped right over and thank goodness landed on its side!

Truth about the Gamepad

The gamepad I will mention is not portable. The Wii U gamepad was not needed. Though it was for playing while someone else was using the TV. The Wii U Pro Controller could’ve been the controller for the Wii U. The Wii U could’ve functioned like an Xbox One or PS4 but Nintendo chose more screens to view on. But now you can play your game while someone is watching TV.

Mario Kart 8 was one of Nintendo’s bestselling Wii u games I highly recommend it. Although as I said in the beginning of this review. “The Wii U Lacked third party games”. However Activision did release Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. And they also released Call of Duty: Ghosts. Those were some big games for a Nintendo console. Since COD Black Ops 1 (Call of Duty) on the Wii. The Wii had two slots where you could put a Wii remote and a nunchuck. Also the Wii U had some big releases like some Mario and Zelda titles. Especially “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD” where Link goes on a quest to beat Ganon the boss.

Netflix was a slow clunky way to watch movies on the Wii U. Also Netflix didn’t work the first year I got my Wii U. I checked literally everything! I tried to reset my Wi-Fi like one hundred times. About a year later Netflix finally started to work on my Wii U.

The eShop

Now there’s not that much to say about the eShop. It’s basically a digital GameStop. The only flaw about the eShop is that digital games take up a lot more space than games on discs. The reason for that is that save data from discs stays on the discs digital copies are stored on your system.

Backwards Compatibility

Yes, the best part of the Wii U is that it is backwards compatible with all of your Wii games. That means you can play Super Mario Galaxy on your Wii U. Also they made a sequel to your favorite Wii game New Super Mario Bros Wii is now, New Super Mario Bros Wii U!

Last Word

Nintendo promised great graphics for the Wii U and they delivered. In my opinion the Wii U was a great console!
