Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E500B/AM)
If you have a spinning hard disk drive in your computer then upgrading to an SSD (Solid State Drive) is probably the most effective way to speed up your computer. Any SSD not just the Samsung 850 EVO SSD, although the Samsung drives usually have higher read and write speeds. In almost every case Samsung models out perform all other manufacturers.
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
Samsung consistently delivers quality product to the market, but what about the EVO SSD?
We examined the hard drive, review the specifications, and these are the results.
EVO 500GB Speed Test
The speed increase that you get from an SSD compared to a Traditional spinning hard drive is very noticeable. Before installing the hard drive my computer use to take around 50 to 60 seconds to fully boot up. After installing the Samsung 850 EVO SSD it took about 10 to 15 seconds to start up my windows operating system. Not only that but every app on my machine to less than half the time to boot up. I noticed an incredible difference in my browser start up, opening up Microsoft application, and lots more.
Samsung EVO Processing
This is almost like upgrading a processor because it speeds up performance by allowing your computer to access and retrieve data from memory quicker. The only real difference is that it doesn’t speed up your processor, your processor is still the same speed, but it doesn’t have to wait as long as it would for your spinning hard disk to send back to information to be process by your processor.
Processor Upgrade
While a processor upgrade would be almost as great as an SSD upgrade, its not, and it would cost you way more for the part. In addition the SSD upgrade is far easier to replace then a processor. Often, replacing a processor involves dealing with glue and fans. Replacing a hard drive in most all cases just requires a Philips head screw driver. The Hard drive is where the bottle neck in computer speed is located and in the long run it will be much easier and more compatible when transferring if you ever decide to switch or need a new computer.
